A New Approach


Taking a NEW approach to getting WELL means changing the habits, behaviors and beliefs that got you feeling unhealthy to begin with. 


Being WELL is not about being thinner, or being able to resist food temptations or signing up for the newest group fitness class. Too many of us get caught up doing what society tells us we are supposed to do to feel well, and we stop listening to our inner voice which, if we listen, is telling us what we truly need to feel healthy.  If we were to listen to our bodies, our hearts, and our minds, we would realize that slowing down and simplifying our life would make a huge difference in how we feel. 


I believe that given the opportunity to think about it, each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions about their own health and wellness.  After all, who knows more about a person than the foremost expert on themselves: "them self".   My integrative approach with coaching allows clients to get back in touch with their own body's physical, emotional, and psychological needs by helping them see just how closely those pieces of their health are intertwined. 


Life happens, and as it does, your specific health and wellness needs will change accordingly.  My goal as your Health & Lifestyle Coach is to guide you to a renewed and deeper sense of self-awareness.   I will help you learn to listen to your true inner voice so that you can make the best decisions for YOU about your health and your overall well-being.  I will guide you to determine what changes you may need to make right now, and I will teach you how to better handle whatever situations come up in the future.


What areas of life are most important to YOU for your well-being?  We’ll examine this question together to set specific life and behavior goals that will bring you closer to where YOU want to be on your journey to becoming abundantly WELL.  As your coach, I will not create a new way of life for you.  Rather, I will assist YOU in exploring why some foods and lifestyle choices make you feel better than others do, and how to strategically use that information to your advantage.  With my assistance you'll set your own individual health and lifestyle goals, determine a realistic time frame for you to reach those goals, and then create a course of action that allows you to know exactly how to attain what you’re working toward.


I practice a holistic and individualistic approach to health and wellness

and I use the simple art of conversation to examine each clients' "bio-individuality".  As your coach, we will talk about how various areas of your life are, or are not, working together.  We will locate where you may be out of balance, and we will explore ways to get your life back on track for YOU. 

Perhaps stress at your job or in your relationship(s) causes you to overeat? 

Maybe lack of sleep is resulting in you having low energy, which then prevents you from wanting to exercise? 

As we examine your lifestyle the way it is now, we will look at how to make small changes in certain areas of your life (food, movement, relationships, work, and/or spirituality) to bring about positive changes to your overall health.


Here are some concepts that we will explore during our work together:


Integrative Nutrition Plate †

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!

Primary Food †

It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.


The concept of Bio-IINndividuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.

Crowding Out ††

Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.


Deconstructing Cravings ††

Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
