I earned my Integrative Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. As a student, I have been educated and trained in innovative coaching techniques, practical and effective lifestyle management tools, and over 100 dietary theories including Paleo, gluten-free, raw, vegan, and macrobiotics, as well as positive lifestyle activities such as mindfulness, yoga, and deep breathing. My education from IIN has been a life-changing experience as it has awakened my sense of self.
IIN has also taught me the importance of achieving and maintaining balance in your life, between what they refer to as Primary Foods (relationships, career, spirituality, and exercise) and Secondary Foods (those which we consume for nutrition). When each of these areas of life are being well attended to and well taken care of, only then can we achieve a state of abundant health.
I earned my Personal Fitness Trainer certification from ACE, the American Council on Exercise. As one of the most well respected organizations for personal trainer certification, ACE has provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to help my clients safely and effectively reach their fitness goals. My primary objective as a Personal Fitness Trainer is to help individuals live a life where they can easily move about, free of pain and discomfort, and proud of and comfortable in the body they have.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Mankato. I studied how individuals are influenced by those around them, and how our lifestyle choices affect both how we think of ourselves and how we interact with others. It was there that my interest in physical fitness was deepened, as I also earned a degree in Corporate Fitness.
I earned my Masters of Psychology from NorthCentral University, where I focused on learning, as well as the fundamentals of shame and its effect on the human psyche.
My training has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in nutrition, physical fitness, wellness promotion, and coaching techniques. Drawing on my experience and my expertise, I work with individuals to help make sustainable lifestyle changes for themselves and help them choose health-promoting habits that produce real and lasting results.
